Exam Expectations

Work you must produce before the exam.

Welcome to your Year 11 Final GCSE Exam.

Expectations:

You are asked to produce a digital sketchbook of preparation work to include: 

  • 6-8 pages of Artists Research 

  • A minimum of 4 Photoshoots presented with best photos larger.

  •  Experimentation using a variety of different techniques

  • A plan and mock up of your Final piece.

You will have a 10 hour exam over 2 days before Easter where you will be off timetable, including Tutor times. 

  • This website has been created for you to enable you to have access to all the exam information at all times.

  • There are links from your starting points to Pinterest boards so that you can get going and start researching straight away.

  • Each stage is designed to move you forward onto the next step of your exam preparations.

  • It is your responsibility to complete every stage in the designated time frame.

during your exam 

During your Exam you can access

Your folder which should have the following  :

  1. All of your photo shoots you have taken for your exam preparations.

  2. Brushes from Brusheezy, geometric shapes from Geometee or any Font from Dafont should you need them.

  3. Any artist research should be completed by the time you take your exam.

During your Exam you cannot:

​

  1. Talk as it will be Exam Conditions

  2. Access the internet at any time (until break time or lunchtime if necessary)

  3. Listen to music.

  4. Have mobile phones on, they must be off and in your bags not in your pockets.

​What do I produce during my Exam?

  • A series of final pieces that you have planned.

  • Present these in your sketchbook along with annotation, screenshots of your process and an evaluation.

  • If you finish earlier than you thought you would, carry on experimenting with your images and produce another series of images that link to your final idea in some way. Don't sit doing nothing, keep going.

  • You may wish to develop ideas from another artist you have researched but not had a chance to experiment with.

  • Present all work in your sketchbook.

  • Save your Exam sketchbook and all final pieces in the Exam hand In folder at the end of the exam, clearly named.
