Expressive Portraits
Research the work of Andy Gott and other portrait photographers who use different types of lighting.

Experiment with facial expressions and how they show emotion.

Use different lighting techniques to show how 'mood' is expressed through the lighting you use. Use the lighting guide to help you.

Self Portraits
Research the work of Cindy Sherman and other photographers who use themselves as their subject eg. self portraits

Explore yourself as your own subject, creating alter egos and other strerotypical characters you have experienced.

Typology
Research Typology in photography and set yourself a challenge to document 'types' of objects, architecture etc.

Research the formal elements of photography

Creative Portraits
Using what you know about studio lighting and portraiture, explore the idea of creative portraiture.

Explore ideas surrounding typography and text in photography.

Research the artists Shirin Neshat and consider how you could use words and text to create a narrative in your images.

Light Graffiti/Trails
Research the technique of Light Graffiti or light trails and consider how you could interpret this technique.

The Female Gaze - Feminism in Photography
"Violence against Women and Girls is at Epidemic levels" and has been called the "shadow pandemic" by the World Health Organisation.
​
We are currently experiencing a crisis of violence against women. This is calling into question accepted social structural establishments like the Police Force and Education.
​
Looking at the world through a feminist lens can help to identify gender based issues and can also help to raise awareness.
Research the work of artists like Maisie Cousins and Barbara Kruger and other artists who explore Feminist themes in their work.

Produce a photoshoot that expresses a feminist narrative that you feel strongly about.
