AO3: RECORD

Record your own ideas both visually and written (25marks)

Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to their intentions in visual and/or other forms to include mind maps, annotation and your own images.

LO: 

To complete stage 3 of your exam preparations by revisiting your mind map and choosing a new idea to develop. Reflect on what you have done so far and develop/improve on one workshop, do a new photoshoot & experiment further.

Explore and experiment with the techniques you have enjoyed the most.

  • Painting and illustrating.

  • Stitching

  • Using Text

  • Scanography

  • Fragmenting the image using geometric shapes

  • Mirroring and repetition to create graphic, digital designs.

  • Cutting or ripping through to reveal another image.

  • Collaging different parts of images together

Complete 2 more Photoshoots
AND
Reflect & Improve:

  • Look back at your mind map and add ideas/images.

  • Choose one artist/technique to develop further. This should be the strongest work you have in your sketchbook.

  • Do another photoshoot based on this and continue to experiment

Double expose using the textures, text, news articles, song lyrics or poems

Cut or rip through to reveal another image underneath

Use the scanner or liquify to stretch and distort your images

Use the lasso tool to select areas and repeat

Experiment and Develop:
Use your imagination - Create work that is unique to you.
Develop ideas that you have enjoyed and start to think about what you want your final piece to be.

Select areas of your images and create digital collages on new documents. Use shape, colour and line. 

Fragment your images in photoshop or by hand

Create contrast by stitching on top of your images

Complete Stage Three tick list

To complete stage two of your exam preparations ensure you have done the following:

  1. Chosen a starting point

  2. Completed a mind map with images, words and detailed ideas

  3. Completed 2-4 artist research pages with detailed annotation that is more analytical than descriptive.

  4. Started to respond to the artists by executing your first 2 photoshoots.

  5. Completed 2-4 experiments for each of your artists.

  6. Used the EXPERIMENT page to help you extend and develop your ideas.

  7. Researched 2 more artists who use different image manipulating techniques like, painting, illustration, cutting, layering etc.

  8. Executed your 3rd photoshoot

  9. Complete another 2-4 experiments for each of these artists.

  10. Added more detail to your mind map

  11. Chosen your favorite artist technique to re-vist and develop.

  12. Found another artist who uses similar techniques

  13. Completed another 4-6 experiments using these techniques and combine these with others that you have explored so far.
